If I were to ask, “What media organization gave the most impartial and complete coverage to the DC Protest” yesterday, many might suspect a conservative cable channel. True, it was a cable channel. It was CSPAN. They offered no commentary and covered the event completely. You can click on the link and watch the whole event. I applaud them for their recording of this event.
It has been amusing to see how the rest of the Mainstream Media covered or failed to cover it. There were no surprises. In their writings and dialogue they managed to downplay the efforts, goals, and intentions of attendees. Still the truth cannot be silent. Facts are very stubborn things. As of the time of this writing there has been no official release of the numbers. At one point, someone announced from the podium that ABC had the number at 1 and ½ million. I found some calculations of the size of the space with estimates at 2.3 million. Liberals are painting it as an insignificant number. As such they have been labeled as “numberers” on twitter.
David Axelrod, the President’s Senior Advisors, has already said in speaking to the Tea Party Protestors, “My message to them is they’re wrong”. While millions of Americans journey back to their own beds the government has nothing but denial. “Attack and Deny” should be the slogan of this administration. They have brought nothing to Washington D.C. but division. It is “We the People” who stand in unity.
If you had no chance to attend or didn’t get to see what took place, watch as much of the CSPAN footage as you can but at least the first 30 seconds. If this doesn’t well up the pride of being American in your breast then I fear you can never understand the power of the concept “WE THE PEOPLE”. This is America. These are your fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, and the ones who care for your car or sell your groceries. These people are the tips of the Iceberg who as you will see are peacefully calling for the ear of their government. They have no desire to sink that ship but are rather calling out to preserve her. Apparently they call upon deaf ears.

Interesting, isn't it? I guess congrats should go out to CSPAN for doing their job, but I'm still upset with them for scrubbing some of their videos from YouTube.
